Essential oils contain naturally occurring terpenes, also known as "terps" which help make the henna stain come out darker. An added benefit is that essential oils smell great, and can add a delightful scent to your henna mixture. Choose from single-note, or our exclusive blends.  Essential oils are properly named "volatile oils" and are more like an alcohol in their chemical structure than an oil (such as olive oil), meaning that they are non-greasy, and evaporate at very low-temperatures. When mixing your henna, you should always let your henna cool before adding your essential oils. You can also add extra essential oil to a henna mix to "push" your paste (make it ready to use more quickly, for example, if you get a last minute gig).
